Marrons Glacés production technology differs from the production technology of candied chestnuts. In the production technology of Marrons Glacés candied chestnuts are covered with sugar aromatized with vanilla. This process lengthens the shelf life and also gives the product a different look and taste. The usual candied chestnut has 30-45 days of shelf life (in 16-18şC) but Marrons Glacés have a shelf life of 6 months.
In the production process of Marrons Glacés the chestnuts are specially chosen, and sugared chestnuts are covered with thin (membrane) sugar aromatized with vanilla using the state-of-the-art technologies and after being placed in specially designed separators they are packed with barrier type "flow pack" (minimum humid and oxygen permeability), packages and placed in boxes to be presented to the market.
Kafkas which is always following science and technology starting from its foundation until today and always renewing its facilities, has produced this product for the first time in Turkey and started to export it.
